Dream Team (A Redneck Sonnet)
by Charles Keller — Read all 159 poems by Charles Keller
OK.. It's not a "real" sonnet. But Bubba and Justine don't know that!
Maybe it's the beginning of the perfect Country and Western Song!

When you divorced me, my trailer left too!
My truck ain’t that comfy, I’m beggin’ you
Please come back Darlin’ oh, why can’t you see
You and that trailer were perfect for me.
The guys at the truck stop are cryin’ too.
Two of ‘em got bit when I walked old “Blue.”
I miss your biscuits and gravy, it’s true .
But most of all Darlin’ I’m missin’ you.
I promise to treat your mama so sweet
She’ll think I’m a diff’rent man when we meet.
And your brothers can keep all that money
They borrowed, just come back to me, Honey.
Our lives will be just like peaches and cream.
‘Cause you and me, Darlin’ we're a dream team.
Rhythm and subjects mingle in this wit-wise playful story-poem set in a SONNET FRAME.
In admiration,
Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU
(((HUGS))) and love, Kalra.
See, laughing so hard, can't spell werth a dern. :) LOLOLOL
But most of all Darlin’ I’m missin’ you.
I don't know much about sonnets, but I know the makins of a good CW tune when I see them! You even got the dog in there!
was more of a nightmare
your dirty boxers and socks
layin round everywhere
and I got tired and pissed
at havin to cut and carry wood
you never did a dad burn thing
to make my life good
and as fer that trailer
why the damn thang's fallin down
so why don't you jes drive
that ole pickup into town
and sign them papers for our devorce
givin everythang to me
and my brothers, of course!
Love the poem Chuck, so much fun.
