Wings to Fly

by Tom Kitt — Read all 95 poems by Tom Kitt

We are lost outside ourselves, lost in illusion. When we know who we are we will understand the nature of our pain and rejoice in its presence.

Poem Artwork
Wings to Fly

This painful need to complete into something
To become attached
To be defined & valid
To be finally safe.

To extinguish this fire
This fear
Like pieces of you & pieces of me
Fragmented into all.

Want to give up!
To die into the humility of acceptance
Submitting & melting
Dying.

To be reborn into the act of simply saying
‘Thank you for this precious moment’
Releasing it to a new wonder
Giving it wings to fly.

There is no freedom as the freedom when we are given our wings. We find completeness then. I flew when reading your pen. light and marvelous.
