Consumed With Pain

The lost of my son
through suicide.
The overwhelming
grief that never
goes away..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I went for a walk
the other night,
trying to sort out
some of my pain.
I did not notice
anyone in sight,
nor did i even
notice the rain.
My heart is filled
with so much grief,
Longing to hold you
just one more time.
From the weight in my
heart, i get no relief.
God, how i miss the
child of mine.
How could you leave
me alone to cry?
just feeling like
i could die.
You have no idea
just how painfully
you have shattered
my heart.
What made you decide
that you wanted to die?
Now all alone i sit,
feeling so torn apart.
I shall alway's love you,
my dear sweet son.
The grief in my heart,
shall alway's remain.
I shall never forget you,
for it cannot be done.
So until the day that
we're together again,
Deeply my heart,
shall be consumed with pain.
This piece reaches deep into my soul. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. May you both find peace.
Trixie, I am so sorry. I cannot relate exactly to your pain, however, I was a widow when I was in the mid-30's and believe me - I realize the void, the empty feeling. Your pain is overwhelming and I pray you find peace to accept what we cannot change. Your poem is very real and made me cry.
Much Love
I am not emotional, but for this I cried.
I have no idea what that must have felt like, my life has been blessed. It takes a few words of from the suffering to realize how much we need to appreciate those around us.
