Stanzas to Belinda

A special memory for Valentine's.

Yes, the trees were whispering,
rustling their last clinging leaves
in the frozen slight breeze
of icey mid-winter.

Again, yes, yes, they whispered,
their long, black branches,
playing against the diamond studded
velvet sky of infinite deep destiny.

For inside, you were there,
under the lights of blue and gold.
And when you took
your hand from mine
to wrap your arms
around my neck
in those last dances,
clinging, closely,
I looked down into the depths
of your smiling, gentle eyes
to see our spirits intertwining
in a promise of forever.

Yes, forever and forevermore,
let my heart sing it out again,
just one more time,
forever and forever,
my darling Valentine.

Wonderfully penned, my friend, and as my Jersey Devil brother says, you write good romantic, mushy stuff!
