Demented words
I despise your power
Invading my serenity
To lambaste me
Whipping words with cancer’s strength
Eating away the will to hide
Taking gaps of my integrity
One by one you pile up on me
Struggling to rearrange the intensity
Oh puzzle
Why are there tears
Crying pieces within my mind
Being thrown
In such disarray
That something has to come out
To let more confusion in
Floodgates hold back the dictionary
My supporting walls grow tired
Of a swollen mind in synonyms
Medicinal rhymes soothe the flow
Until homophones disturb the meaning
Sending me spilling out
Onto the banks of antonyms
But over the horizon
Lies that peace that will set things right
In an enclosed masterpiece
A piece so obese
The package stays together
Cemented in hypnotic purpose
Casting a spell that sighs
Of its overbearing design
In stream downed power
The heavens open onto magical waters
But a storm is gaining strength
Thar she blows
Her crusty face distorting the calm
Letting the mind see another word
Come into view
A celestial isle
Of tormented words
