I Threw A Line
I threw a line into a river of thought,
Where it slowly drifted North to South.
As the wind flowed vivid verse West to East
Upon clockwise tick tock’s revolving rhyme.
English left to right character composition
Gravitates down pages adrift time deposits.
As sediment awaiting the next reading correlation,
Where Poetry wanders down to; see-shore depositions.
I threw a line into an ocean of thought,
Across the pond onto histrionic English Literature.
To Be, too and fro, in Shakespearean Sonnet terse tides,
But alas the façade face weathers American changes.
Conservative containment bares Dark Ages testament,
Windless, wave less vocabulary stilled stagnant society.
Where religion starts the book banning burning process,
When Liberal Arts faces a guillotine of biased bigotry.
I threw a line into the universe of universal thought,
Where moonlight did see the river sparkling insight,
Wherein starlight sees an ocean shimmering skylight
When widespread understanding spreads enlightenment.
I threw a line and where it landed; I thought did not matter,
As long as it hooked the next generation aftermath after that
For our words delegate an individual fruition blossom existence
Wherein a name does not matter, but “I Threw A Line” does.
