A country Christmas present

Christmas Present

Home sweet snow
Falling gentle adrift memories
Powder dust among misty eyes
Coming home White Christmas
Present presence among family.

Snowbank's of country side
Alongside a farm pothole road
Plowed by John Deere tractor
Paths for four wheel vehicles.

Loving living Christmas trees
Leading up homestead lane
Invitation for family and friends
Serving good ole grandma's cooking.

Good ole stories around a fireplace
Guitar strumming strings harmony
Sipping eggnog, brews upon toasts
To the spirit Christmas past and present.

Nobody expecting this soldier home
Having close friend bring him back
To open the door to complete surprise
Where tears flow to be united again
