Time Framed

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

Without words behind a picture, how can you be remembered, just in a picture - fading over time

Poem Artwork

Time Framed

Black hole bares lost memories,

Forevermore, ever -ever forgotten.

One way mirror timed Alzheimer’s

Blank stare adrift lackluster worn eyes.

What is life - over and done with?

Wherein family pictures fade vacant,

To Be-come baseless faceless mirrors,

Without story lines to spread, forward.

Youth polished shine bear brilliant reflections,

Wearing down inside time abrasive emulsions.

Plastic surgery attempt bring restored refractions

In silver flecking, aged antique, visage demotions.

Mirrors dark, mirrors broken, mirrors age cracked -

Raked in sharp pieces, of shard needle point - embroidery.

Billions of peace and tranquility parts, drown in quicksand pools,

Among hourglass mirrored grains that rein - Time Framed.
