Poem Artwork

Furrow Thy Purpose

Knead wrought, bound, wounded words,

Rake, nail knuckled, pounding preying fists.

One needs this craw hammer, crawling fortitude,

To pry open, deadweights - chokehold reins.

Whip froth that molds mildew, lucid pores,

Alight sunken, quicksand encased, eye lids.

Frozen in placemats, run over time, and again,

Rutted pothole, pork belly, returns bacon crisp.

Tear no longer, moist - rip open cracked, thorn deserted,

Catch patches, sown in tatter tale thread, amid ragged urns,

Fill in ampullated whorl winds, to bear fallow fields - rancid,

Plead harvest thy grain that lay scattered, adrift the wind.

Wind worn turnstile, entry trap door, do rust thy tight clasp,

Deep inside deposit’s conception core, grave gravity gravels,

To feel those gavel felt heart beats that belts, amongst miracle mats,

Wherein feathers, leather whip words - dew weather time.

Whether eyes naught, knots me nots, amid soul searching,

“You’re fired,” up kindling grey taunt mind-map, roaming embers coat,

Enrapture encasements pewter, hallow empty with petered out stems.

Do thy dye, thee quill’s beginning in flowing blood veins that come alive?

Tear, do not cry, shallow - graven torn, fear pit buried, amidst thy quagmire,

Moisture aged, amid dry draught desolation, cementing alone, die isolation.

One must steer afloat, to lift aground, thy rudder, to mutter grasp hook-lets,

To hook, line, and sinker - inspire Poet Tree booklets - conceive conception.

Dew wear deep, thy lead bound pencil, upon dye weighted grooves, baring insight poetry.

Thy art the spark amongst, “Knead wrought, bound, wounded words,” amid poetry power.

Thee must, “Rake, nail knuckled, pounding preying fists,” being soul empowered.

Poet, “One needs this craw hammer, crawling fortitude,” terse verse enlightenment.

Poets must reach within, “To pry open, deadweights - chokehold reins,” adrift embodiment.

Thy seeded fallow mind, bears proud thy bard existence,

Dew elevate Poet Pride alight thy life sentence Poet Tree fruition,

For fertile Poets and Poetry must –

Furrow Thy Purpose.                                                                     03/22/18
