Words Pecking Order

Walk backward, words seeded, amid posthaste, sown parcel patches.

Toss afterward, remnant memories, ledge echo edge - recon recollections.

Ajar quakes, afar latch, amidst catch phrase, whorl wind Venus traps.

Tap - tap, rat a tap opens, thy cork, spieling dye bud cask, drum rollback.

Façade wears, backwater worn swill, retaining stag knot, hold - petri cracks.

Deep drought thoughts, mind mired pieces, wear pierced - hollow points.

Ghastly words, dew rest in place mats, amid trap doors, timed mine fields.

Me, oh my, thou weather worn whispers, leather whip lime lashes – deep dye leash.

Strained eyes, wrought I, right forward – left backward - boxed in, fallen dead ends.

Tatter tail trails girth, being trial marked aged, birth rings amidst baptismal water.

RIP thy heart, amongst teeter totter, shifting shape - headstone instep inscription’s

Quintessential backdrop, conceiving convalescent conjecture of Words Pecking Order.

What a creative mind you have. Your love (and mastery) of words intrigues like the inside of a giant geode. It always amazes me: Words are small things and a small drop of ink falling like dew upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think. You should know, this piece made perfect sense to me. Thank you. Regards. r
