Living Listless Amid Shifting Gear Thoughts

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

We live in rooms sometimes, looking out. inside closing in walls. Sometimes we need to open the door and reach beyond set boundaries.

Living Listless Amid Shifting Gear Thoughts

Inside four walls that close in inbound,

Breathing ceiling collapsing all around.

Opening up deep floor negativity wounds,

One tries to escape empty voids spellbound.

Eye wash tears this invincible specimen scorn,

Worn inside out rounds torn tattered tear shorn.

Earliest scrabble bits computes grained crosswords,

Drained into million-part pieces that lay blurred.

Shaded past, hid overcast, amid gray matter.

What was once, hidden amongst dust layers.

Blanketed novel sheets do bind shelves yellow

Caked upon times coffin, skeletal words await.

Words photograph mental character imprints

To be deciphered adrift flairs off forlorn leaves.

This-stain amongst blinking eyes interpretations.

Dew tells time parchment to share fading stains.

Wake Up, WAKE UP - any reason to explore beyond

Set limitations that one is naught a lamb of God cloned

To silence that grasps chokehold stillness, to whimper.

I must obey, I must retreat, I must be this lost timepiece.

But thy window shade peeks beyond blinders to wonder.

What if, What if, one could open door to wander beyond?

Should I, Could I journey beyond the horizon’s horizon,

To avail nightingales and whippoorwill’s blue bonnets?

To feather water slide sounds amid cyan blues bliss hues

Dew moist thy eyes amongst beads amid rain drop mists.

Flutter liberated amidst Freedom smiling spirit libation

Let the whorl wind Mother Nature’s tan hearth bee nurtured

Wherein rays penetrate soul’s existence with sense tenses.

That beyond four shackled walls that squeeze confinement

Words within us must traverse anew amazing adventures.

That each branch taken in live, will have this unique purpose.

For We Art Poets Alight Poet Tree’s Tranquil Teleportation.

We have to open those doors that meet our Horizon’s Horizon.

You have worded this all so beautifully and I agree that we must hit life head on with every intention of reaching "beyond". So well put!

Love ya!
