UniQued UniVerse – Villanelle Split Front And Back Fourth Version

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

I took a 20 syllable Villanelle and split it in half plus or minus a syllable, making basically a 10 sylable Villanelle. I was surprised it held its form.

I was told to try to make 20 syllable into a 10 syllable for people to better understand. I then noticed a line thru the middle, I separated and this is what emerged.

I do not know if they should be alone, read divided then united, or what combination works. I wonder if its changes someway?

I hope you enjoy the Pun of Poetry.

UniQued UniVerse – Villanelle Split Front   (Fourth Version)

Knead thy feeble fingers to furrow fertile

Whence bringest do poet plows, to bear

HeArt vibrations, shall thee bare leaf

Cleave thy grain subject matter depth, amongst

Leave pages of rhyme brush stroking every

Knead thy feeble fingers to furrow fertile

Dost thy sensual fable knit needle, burrow

Dawn’s bark, brings darkness into shadows,

HeArt vibrations, shall thee bare leaf sensations

Dye eyes, stain in winter frozen moonlight

From hence, dost thou HeArt’s dye, spring in

Knead thy feeble fingers to furrow fertile

Butterfly hue tinted whorl winds, whisper

Ripple melodic syllables to pollinate

HeArt vibrations, shall thee bare leaf

Wail yea, before thee birthing cry, that Hails

Hail Rhymester's Bard Poet, entail

Knead thy feeble fingers to furrow fertile

HeArt vibrations, shall thee bare leaf

UniQued UniVerse - Villanelle Split Back   (Fourth Version)

Earth amidst word generation draughts

Onto trenches that conceive composition

Sensations fluttering poetic light breeze drafts

Pre-Scythe rows sowing thy UniQue lines craft

Sense of existence within our UniVerse

Earth amidst word generation draughts

Nurtured germinated updrafts?

Then shade creates sun repositioned redrafts

Fluttering poetic light breeze drafts

Reflection - deposition’s pleasure craft

To fall augmented compost autumn handicraft

Earth amidst word generation draughts

To enumerate light arrangement shafts

Poet Tree unique composites

Sensations fluttering poetic light breeze drafts

Ole English Literature blade till draught

Shakespearean WordsWorth Poet harmonic knots

Earth amidst word generation draughts

Sensations fluttering poetic light breeze drafts

I'm not familiar with Villanelle poetry, so I don't and won't pretend to be an expert when I don't know, but what you've written with the 20 syllables seems to resemble closely with a Villanelle poem!

Great job, David! I'm so glad you have found a passion in writing Villanelle poetry. Many of us just say whatever we needed to say in our poems without constructing its form. I like what you are doing!

Keep up the wonderful work!
