I Cried And No One Noticed

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

The tears were so old -
they where molded in time.
While, the years wore so young -
they were worn into rhyme.

I Cried And No One Noticed

It was Christmas Eve.
Listless, I sat alone,
Sharing dried tears
That the years
have brought present,
In memories of Christmas pasts.

Times sparkling lost,
Somehow found.
Where eyes mist moist,
Solemn Holiday presence.
Quaken hollow point alive.
Thy heartbeats break,
As one reverts -
Back and forth,
In Christmas's rocking chair.

The tide of time
Does flood fluid
Amidst Hallowed Silent Night
In the Joy of the World,
Sobs did inneed,
Need to be loved.
The rocking chair squeaks,
Beside campfire sparked embers.
Ashes do layer last
New Year's tear ashes,
Inner wealth
Tunes in mirth cheer,
Amid wry wrought,
Dew crack lips upward,
Christmas time smiles.

Flame tongued focus feelings,
Pluck attuned heartstrings.
Amidst Angels harp pricked
Crystal clear stare cased,
Staircased starlight show,
Falling slow notes
That vibrate heaven's
Snow White Christmas
Wherein one cries -
All alone.
And no one
Seems to even notice -
Except Angels Upon High
Sparkling thy Heavens
Tear Drop Show Flacks
Sparkling within renewed -
Christmas's Love Notes.

The saddest thing is tears at the holidays. When everyone else is partying, the pain goes on. It doesn't know it's holiday time.

Christmas can be the loneliest time of the year. We need to reach out and be a friend to have more friends as the year ends. This advice helped me greatly and now each year gets a bit better all the time. Amen!

A somber thought about being alone at Christmas time. Probably the loneliest feeling of all.
