A Grain Of Time

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

I am not sure what this will become, probably nothing. Any ideas on how to continue.

This could be a chapter, poem, collection, novel, or just garbage.

I am so insecure that I am closing down.

I given up so many times I have gone around full circle.

Poem Artwork

A Grain Of Time

The drought fraught lines, aged hallow, across fertile - wrought bound thoughts. The Draft of Youth over rhyme had graduated rugged amid terrain's rough grit. What was an American Dream, evaporated adrift the rip tides, torn around asunder worn out life lines. That failure is this lifetime challlange, to repeatedly overcome. Somewhere inside one cries alone, driven to move on forward amidst faint hope.

InGrained in Mother Earth, our unique destiny forages on from birth forward in our owned rhymn of wandering heart beats. The past fades fast, behind what once was, what was the future that laid ahead, now lays buried behind your presence. Seconds of minute steps, advance in the quick sand secession of tick tock rhyme around the chiming clock. The hourglass does wash away a grain at a time: What Was dawn, What was dusk, memories alight moon beams writing aloft seasons of wet ink stains, yellowing dry upon the pages past present wondering.

Anew morning, sometimes mourns past due, adrift gray mists, drip dropping heavy lids, upon leaves drooping down dreary. But dew beads do delight breezes, bye levitating there flight currents amidst whorl wind songbird whispers, bee side sun beams dancing between the pages of rhyme. Herein the mystical Poet Tree, we germinate OUR UniVerse enlightened soul aloft cerebral spheres.

OH, Too Sea, an ocean meadow fluttering alive inspirational butterflies: poet bee - prancing free spirited awash water color word honey, filled full of luscious pollen paint hues. See Scapes brushing, soft touching verse within  tidal wave rocking chair serene movements. To and fro tranquil rhymic incapsulation, we pulsating peace, writing poetry's heartbeat melody, where words lisps light velvet verse amid articulate harmonic attenuation. .

Certainly not garbage David. Quite open-hearted and honest. Kudos! A terrific flow of words and thoughts that are uniquely you. At times, creative types cannot find a way out of their own minds. I've struggled with this many times. Sadly to my detriment. Periodic (and at times consuming) bouts of insecurity is the price some pay for seeking originality. Stay the course. All the best. r
