Final Leave Of Verse

The water stilled, amid back-water reflection,
As each breeze, begins another still deflection.
What was once, be lost wandering, the past due
That one lives today, daydreaming morrow’s hues.

Youth jumped of this peer, with no problem to bear
Sixteen, went skinny dipping here, butt cheeks bare.
Being teen, never lasts forever, winds start to wander
As adults, we start learning, amid minds, full of wonder.

So many things went wrong, yet things went - right nautical.
Here one collects memories, in forgive and forget me knots.
That eyes, cried out, at times in sadness of loss of loved parent
Or cries, full of joy, hearing that wail, be blessed in parenthood.

Had to learn, to let go, of loving pets that be there, but gone next
Second - as hand, goes to pet, saying no more, then getting that text
Surprise, look what we found that needs a home, one look, be all
And another lays beside, your stilled inflections in paired eye-balls.

Strange, how they seem to pick, the same, while you do - the same
Pondering past mistakes that be, too late to mend - mind frames.
Where everything living thing, has its own birth and dead sense tense,
When we have to let go, saying “Rest in Peace” to the Final Leave Of Verse

David,
So many prompts, so many directions
The hills and the valleys along the journey
So many extreme points; it can wear out a heart
It seems that a lifetime is not enough
Perhaps we need to live it all again?
The next time we will get it right!
Perhaps not?
Ah, but do we really have that choice?
So enjoy this life as we go...
Cheers to this life; until the final end...
Amen
