Seeded Smiles

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

When things are so deep down, they are destroying you inside, out. Sometimes by writing down or typing that devastation into a scream upon a paper or screen does rant rage into venting that heals in therpahy. After getting it out - delete it, make a pyre of paper and set it aflame (safely). You can shred it, lock it up under lock and key.

And those brave enough, can share it with others, who have their pyre of words.

Seeded Smiles

Some minute, a second ticked
Another one, then tock-ed
Presence to past, time evolves
Ebbs and wains, round clocks.

Top to bottom, then top again
Time falls, onto dusk skies
Rises to awake, anew dawn
What buds spring, then wilts fall.

Deep down, amid depth depression
Juggernaut be, choke hold quagmire
Sucking minutes, down quick hourglass
Sands; Life draining, draining, exhausting.

Words, tap dancing, finger tipped expose
Pounding keys, which nail-wail frustration
Dye elocution, to thunders out - embodiment
Ranting rage, vents to heal, not destroy.

Composed composition, being shredded apart
Shared by no one, but your own eyes healing
Pyre asunder, tattered words - piled cremation
Phoenix flame, assuming renewed rejuvenation.

Inside, one can again, plant those - Seeded Smiles

Yes. A pyre of paper might help. But in some instances, the hurt runs too deep.
