I hope the effects of the words storm visions of a Thunder Ring Storm.

Poem Artwork

Thunder Ring Storm

Still, static leaves, limp quiet - list less
Lack luster, motion less, matter scene
Aloft uneasy, lay tension - apprehension
Critters, scurry quick, to secure covered dens.

Leaves, surrounded see scape - stationary
Nature awaits, pending soft sound murmurs
Calm sunshine clearing, one eyes all around
To hear low rumble, of impending storm front.

Mad rush, to secure loose objects, ‘n barbeque
Wind burst alerts, change coming electrostatics
Trees start to whip, amid snapping - wind currents
Deluge drowns folks, who dew seek save dwellings.

Thunder pounds, shutter ring walls ‘n windows
Lightning streaks cloud to clouds onto tree’s ground
Loud crack tree snaps, splinter ring crash on shed
Fury rages, light go out, on - then off, for a long while.

Pets cower, under beds, and upon master’s laps
As house shakes, swearing one hears the train’s rein
Family hurries scared, enters safety storm shelter
Sounds abound surrounding - Thunder Ring Storm.

The tension builds and so does the storm.

Yes! David! Your words not only painted a picture of a horrendous storm but I could "hear" it as well. Job well done, my friend!

Love ya!
