A Wake

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

One can think that a sea shore bee this eternal hourglass, where the sand rises and falls on tidal waves of time.

A Wake

What dost time awake thy tide’s Will to wane
Ebb thy reign of words amid silent surf beaches
Desert deserted hourglass grains bee come stilled
Cerebral void gray on grey to nil matter in smatter.

Sunrise of nevermore, morrow to be over die cast
Awake one ponders devoid of life sense substance
Shallow breathing gasps lisp cusp breaks draught
Choke holds grasps chill, night quill wrought whether.

Solitude soliloquy that plies thy character center stage
Hear yea aloud cries, “Who am I?” Amid silent reflections
“I am thy heartbeats, adrift thy soul’s cerebral currents
Wherein past be present, to seer steer horizon’s future.”

Thee bee flair of celestial tangible thoughts be onto themselves
That recedes asunder pyre remnants, whence in dire termination
Thy ascends aloft True Grit Will Power - Phoenix DeTermination
Shout aloud. “Eye be the tide that writes winds eloquent elocution.”

Eye to eye be see shore of illustrious illusions sailing see mist clarity
The dew that awakes bead’s moisture, alight watercolor livid lucidity
Sunrise Will, brings in thy morrow, to wilt past due cocoon reservations
A Wake Phoenix seeds, sprout forth rooted in buds upon tidal wave pages
“Whence Thy Leaves Bee Paging Aloud Rhyme’s Soliloquy.”
