What Is His Name

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

How one Label can change one person's whole destiny. That to defeat someone, we put a Label on them that we hope sticks with them, on their downfall. The greatest Lable-makers are lawmakers. Politicians who Lies in Hate's Labels, can be one of the most destructive forces humanity faces in Concentrations.

What Is His Name

His name was Ted, or was it Randy
No matter, he was an American
That America could forget about
A cast away that once was something
But today people seen him as nobody
Looking right through his very existence.

He was not a beggar, but just a survivor
Having been laid off, downsized, fired
Terminated yet, some-how DeTerminated
That the Truth would set this nation’s hatred
Back upon a path to Loving thy neighbor.
That an invisible Wall was now dividing America.

His last patch of Patriotism, laid in a single vote.
One vote in this Mass Conglomerate fiefdom
Politicians only come begging election time
Promising super jackpot lottery winnings
With forked tongue deceit that Lair foretells Liars.
Nothing will enrich Tom, or was it Rob’s life,
No matter.

You see David, was no King, or was it James
Just a lamb follower, upon a leash tied down.
Raymond had his dream vanquished squashed
Someone had put an untouchable label on him
So vile, people turned away – Too Bee called “Liberal.”
Why Conservatives shunned Robert, no Mathew.

Anonymous he was, nameless he be downtrodden
Face between white onto black, but not politically Right
But every, so often - Bleached Right Upright Uptight Crass
Could show attention to Fred, no Stephen - what’s his name
No matter, he is just smatter that does not splatter wealth
Onto Billionaire Towers of Power reps, who corrupt Congress.

Owning no land Harry, no Tim, was this renter voting liability
That needed a valid driver’s license with this validating image
Voting registration card that must change apartment numbers
Why they would inspect “private parts,” if they could legally do so
Woe be Bruce or Caitlyn, when asked for birth certificate proof
Homeless Joe, houseless Peter, transient Larry, need passports.

He was no Don, nor Juan with a harem twirling round him
He was no Bill, or Jeff behind mansion be-HE-moth gates
He had no trump card, no exclusive golf club membership
He was no CEO CFO or AFL-CIO Chairman or Board member
He was no Country or Movie Star, who knows a Kardashian
He was no matter of importance but alas was this “PROUD” -
No-Name Voter

Note: So not to be called sexist, you can put feminine names, or whatever in this. The plain fact is that over half of US, have become invisible, within our own owned representative nation. IN 1776, this figure rose to about 60 to 65 percent, before this nation rebelled forming these United States of America, under “We the People” voting individual civilian Bill of Rights privileges.

Sad state of affairs we are in! You grabbed my heart with this write, David. More jobs? Yeah, but nothing you can live on. (unless you're skilled........not even then!). This is not the country my father, his family, and my three brothers fought for. Tears!

Love ya!
Jane
