Songbird Solo

Bright plumage prancing trill la la
Serenade be the songbird sunrise chorus
Pair of Larks singing duet side by side
Nesting Robin with Mate nearby
Finches darting around backgrounds
Vivid red, dull red, paired Cardinals
Promenade of the Spring mating season

Bright canary tweeting single solos
Such a sweet sounding mellow melody
But alas it did not echo, reply from afar
He sang louder, as it went further out
But still, no reply, does he hear at all
This goes on, as he is heard above others
By the end of week, he became rejected.

That is it, I will not tweet another note
He arose to songbirds duets all over
He went to sing, then he stopped silent
There was no reason, to join the chorus
Then he heard her, tweet abound, crystal clear
Where was she, there I see her - dull yellow.
Overhead upon a branch budding blossoms.

She had waited, to join in after him.
But her spirit, could wait no longer
Spring songbirds were astounding her
Soon a bright yellow chest bellowed
Oh such a beautiful duet ensued
A rhapsody of mating ritual duet calls
She darted down - seeking the distant echo.
