The Tear Worn Cold

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

Poetry comes together for many poets, after being tear tear(other tear) torn apart amidst the rises and wanes that rip tide our HeArt's UniVerse.

Poem Artwork

The Tear Worn Cold

Aged amidst a misty memory that fades hurt inside and out
The tear worn cold, over many years, “Will” haunt thy present
As another tear being layered, attaches to time’s moist stain
Same image “Wills” churn - see mood swing rise, then wanes pain.

We lock away fiber tear drops, a-gasp heart beat locked closets
But at times, skeletal-key turns open, choke holds - rusted locks
Mirage massage memory a gist Wraith phantasms that go berserk
Soul be-ring reborn, amid grave-griefs hellhole hibernation, opens flood gates.

Torn wounded, worn why warm, we need to be - wordsmith rekeyed
For what are poets, without gut wrenching, tear jerking rut emotions
Whence bottomless pitfalls rake to prick poetry, upon leave’s wry wrought
Fight tidal wave riptide cross currents, in fraught rewritten rip reconciliation.

The Tear Worn Cold: Must bare thy future, bear dye past, a gist terse present pain.

The Tear Worn Cold

Aged amidst
a misty memory
that fades hurt
inside and out
The tear worn cold
over many years
“Will” haunt
thy present
As another tear

Same image
“Wills” churn -
see mood swing rise
then wanes pain.

We lock away
fiber tear drops
a-gasp heart beat
locked closets
But at times
skeletal-key turns open
choke holds -
rusted locks
Mirage massage memory
a gist Wraith phantasms
that go berserk
Soul be-ring reborn
amid grave-griefs

Must bare thy future
bear dye past
a gist terse present

I was reading this, not sure what it meant, until the line in the second stanza, "We lock away fiber tear drops..." Then, I was engaged and felt every word of your poem. Yes, when those places open to fill our hearts and minds with pain, only grief and emotional release can bring sense to what is unimaginably heart-breaking and terrible. Thank you for sharing this poem.

It takes gut wrenching experience to write poetry of pain like you do so well from your innermost flooding of emotions. Keep writing when the emotions well up and overflow again. Capture them for us to read.

YES, David!! "hellhole hibernation opens flood gates", there is no doubt about that......That same "hibernation" packed fifteen pounds onto my thighs as well. Pray for change, my friend!!

Love ya!
