Prayer For Peace

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

Being a Patriotic Love American Democracy Poet gets one censured that Hate must somehow, run today's American politics. That every nation must have their Autocratic One Man ruler that extinguished voting rights of those against them.

I am in the pain of isolation that makes Dead Poets Society in Autocracy.

This Poet defends the US Capital and supports Congress.

Thank You “Naught” For Your January 6 Dis-Service

But "Thank You For Your Service" defending Th Republic and its "We The people" Democracy

Prayer For Peace

Graduated a gist lifetime
Vietnam War’s theater
JFK, RFK, MLK
Bang-Bang-Bang Assassinations
January 6, 2021 insurrection
against Democracy
American Dead Poets Society
Ghost RIP Writing
“Resounding Inspired Poetry”
GRIP Free Verse.

They say America Bee Freedom
Liberty
Democracy
Therein is what LIES
in Our Lair of Political HOAX’s
Try expressing PTSD stains
raking dye skeletal pain
Amid RIP/TAP
“Political Testimonial Society Deception”
“Thank You For Your Service,”
To Bee -
MUTED MIME.

Lost Sweet Alabama’s
Home Sweet Home
writ dwelling
Do not question
Mother America’s
Lair of perpetual deceit
Corporate America WILL censure
Vietnam War Veteran poetry
Wherein word’s therapy -
tap releases
Draft HS Graduations
Could have been college
should have been bright future.

Oh thy would
not-knot-knocking
Rat a TAP -
Thank You America
For ever
and more
even more barren -
American Dead Poet dearth
Birth name
be extinguished present presence
blank grave shrill marker
Being Gandhi Democracy
decimated by Autocratic World Order -
Power
Excommunicated
to be exiled Chinese Poet
supporting (HK) Democracy.

Oh America
feel the tears
bearing the years
that stain dye HeART
in pure pain
Camelot’s DEAD Poet Society
that lost that “ I Have A Dream”
in 1968 bullets.
America has gone so far
only to have this January 6, 2021
mob insurrection
Tactical gear attacking U.S. Capital
sending Congress scurrying
in safety retreats
Where President does nothing
while VP action -
saves United States of America.

Prayer for Peace
WILL get one vilified;
that Love conquers Hate –
one is exterminated
RIP dye Soul Spirit TAPS
in Amazing Grace
let thee American Circle
Be Unbroken
Invisible imprisoned prayer -
Oh God Dew Bless America
amidst Love’s Healing Miracle
That faith
within Our Constitution
can unite these January 6, 2021
divided United States
The Circle
The Center
The Compass
The Spokes of America
must naught be -
Jan. 6 broken.

Once again, in a single poem of mighty wordsmithing you have covered your life through history and turmoil unlike those of us who went to college on deferments and never had to serve under the draft.

Like you every time I see a war I see a bunch of damaged survivors who have seen the horror close-up and never again forget the searing pain of it regardless of the glory of victory that is taunted by military bigots.
