Waging War With Thy Self

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

When thing are perfect, along comes the improvable storm, where we have to rebuild, over the devastation.

Sometimes Poetry is like a ever, never ending storm where we keep rebuilding poetry lines, onto different harvest formats. Trouble is by the time we get it right, we forget what we did, for it is past tense

Waging War With Thy Self

Tranquil meadow,
why dost thee,
haunt thee -
so
Amiss peace,
be these tornadic
cerebral winds -
sow
That keep haunting
dye spirit,
amid war wraiths -
blow
Dost devastation,
takes its tarantula
tyrannical toll –
torn

Open

Butterfly,
butterfly.
Do not fly away
with wind’s fury
Come prance,
alight daffodils, daisies
and blue belles
Let us wrest away,
amiss resounding
reality resonance
Thunder tintinnabulations,
amidst medicinal meditation

Silenced

Dye dark surging storm,
seers thy horizon,
peers forecast
Frontal lobe front,
fast furious fury
approaches downcast
Wrenched swish
switching sounds,
abound future forecast
Oh reign,
dew not rein,
depressed downpours,
time telecast

Thunder

Why musk thee,
lay waste to
thy mellow meadow,
mid mildew mold
To lay sickle sick,
horizontal pruned prone,
alliterating alone anguish
Fallow thy heart
hollow wrought,
fraught despondent
exponential cold
Skeletal bones
shiver shutter,
fear tears over years,
rebuild languished

Wither

Or naught to sow
thy poet’s plow,
seeding fertile future
furrows bright
Sunrise soul spirit
dew delight,
meadow weather
enticing enchantment
Click clock time verse,
around clockwise terse,
prancing radiant rainbows
Dig deep dye stains,
core composite conception,
Waging War With Thy

Self

PTSD is hard to overcome. The internal battle continues long after the original cause as she slipped away into the night of memory. Writing about the better half of life will help ease the pain and hasten the time of tranquility. It will come with every poem written.
