Trip Down Memory Lane

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

This thought of a Memory Lane Whisper, came out of nowhere at a Whataburger, where I had to borrow a pen, to write the thought down, to work on this later.

 Trip Down Memory Lane

When things get
Uptight and rough
I take the time
To take my trip
Down Memory lane
Where you whisper to me.

It has been several years
And the winds still shares
The soft whispers along
Memory lane breezes
Remembering him (her).

Seems afterwards
Things are not so bad
And I can hold
My head higher
Still missing him (her)
But living life must go on
With you inside my spirit

It has been several years
And the winds still shares
The soft whispers along
Memory lane breezes
Remembering him (her).

As one grow frail
The memories do take over
As youth goes senior citizen
The past increases presence
Mid whispers of Memory Lane
Sigh signs saying
I will soon be with you
For ever
And henceforth.
Loving you eternally.
