This is a stunning poem that needs to be read widely. With your permission, I want to send it to all of my email correspondents. Because you are so absolutely right with what you write.

We have a bunch of impotant old men in the Supreme Court and the United States Senate, spouting the Bible that women came from the rib of a man and therefore should be subjected to a man's whim after all studies showing that women, in general are as intelligent, strong and resourceful as men, while being more nurturing than men deciding. Also the disgusting question of gender, while science has proved that there are many variations of gender rather than, either, or, simple conclusion.

None of these old codgers will understand the trauma of a young woman whose disappeared rapist, boyfriend or husband left her pregnant with no means for rearing a child without additional support. These rule makers will not have to take care of the countless young people brought up in a world that doesn't care for them, even though their mother tries and tries. And worse, children disabled at birth and loved, but requiring medical attention and care throughout their often short, but miserable lives. Their mother tied down with them and unable to help her other children. Feeling very guilty for having a baby that she can't even get help to take care of.

I'm sick and tired of Bible waving old men deciding things for the rest of us who understand science, economics and just good will for all of those oppressed by rulemaking from above without a heart and without a thought for the damage they do.

Keep socketing it to them, master of the word!
