Line Drawn In Sand

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

Society does draw lines in the sand that limit and restrict US. There are those Pied Piper's, who seek to contain US. And when you declare your Independence, they pounce on you, like Pit Bull Orange Grim Reapers mongrels.

Line Drawn In Sand

Hourglass grain
refraction inversion
Veteran spawn Swiss
Chess cheese piece
Do not cross the
T intersection skeleton
One way street
upon no return
address mark
Dye scarecrow wraith
dost speaks naught.

Existence be
futile lisps of
orange rhyme
Sipping lemonade
prune juice regurgitated
Foam of rabid madness
arises in vein vanity
Why live chained linked
to lone time capsule

Gasp yea knot,
bark thee naught,
Dye Knight Mare
Neigh be headless writer,
RIP torn bell whether vassal
Wetter reign wilts flood,
empty I drain
rain drop vessel
Flooding corkscrewed skewed
whitewash scorn sown.

Twist so taunt,
twist some more,
twist to breaking point
Give UP
no use to fight
the boa constrictor
manipulator
Yet somehow restrained
thy lynching neck stretches
Beyond set limitations,
imposing opposition
to bulldog bite

Iron Will
cast from crystal,
shatters not,
thy pristine ball sears
A Cross A Bridge
of make believe,
whence knees wrought
Knead thy Holy Grail mirage
to commence healing sought
To Show that improvable,
Line in The Sand,
being crossed.

So much anguish and pain in these verses. Only relieved a bit in the end by the last stanza showing some light of hope possible.
