Wry Dew We Exist

by David Lester Young — Read all 1,103 poems by David Lester Young

As an American it is important to stand up to our morbid elected officials, who are supposed to serve US, not themselves as Morticians of Democracy.

Wry Dew We Exist

1)
 Our existence lay
in our seeded words
That we bear in
our lifetime being
They tap dance
fingers on keyboards
That records our
verse poet passages.

Where within stanzas
we leave a trail
That will last beyond
our grave demise
Mostly anonymous,
some signed
mid time
To exist between
Novel pages
as Poets.

Oh vivid verse vibrate
thy terse lucid Lit
spry stanzas
Find thee core conception
reception to thy core being
Between consonant
tap dancing
vowel vivid characters
Prancing Poetic
Literature enlightened
ensemble passages.

Seeded minds
dew ply fertile furrows
to sow spry Lit stanzas
That take root ‘n sprout up
to bud bright
insight mind~frames
Sway Literature
rippling rhyme over
intrepid time traversals
Where thy twain depth,
be poet
personification personified.

2)
In writing we create
lasting filled memories
In naught writing
these gaping vacuum holes
Dye owned Lit
Torch of Liberty
must light
Thy way with Moses
Freedom to sear the way.

We all have an inner inert
peer power purpose
That we must find
that exists within Ourselves
That no one else
can light or
can extinguish
Given on Our God given
birthright divine destiny.

Who are we alone prone
butt meek living suicide
For we must a rise
upon the sword point of dye
Words penetration to
impregnate Our self-worth
WordsWorth must exclaim
Moses Freedom spirit.

3)
So Guardians of Democracy
dew arise up as Sentinels
To fight those
that pick and choose
who have Rights
For are naught
ALL American citizens
given Birthrights
As Americans
and as God’s gift
to this whole world.

Who as elected Politicians,
become Our Mortician Masters
Who dictate to US,
who has a Right to Vote
in Their America
That they create a caste
crass of devout lamb
cast followers
Who follow dye
Republican Pied Pipers
as rabid zealots.

Star Spangled Star
and Stripes Banner
flutters Our Patriotism
Statue of Liberty
LIT torch in hand
signals our nation’s Freedom
From Birth Bill of Rights,
WE American citizens
are unabridged
In an Constitution
that cannot be denied
or be legislated away.

You are right. Without freedom of the press, authors and poets, alike, we become under the thumb of the wealthy that run the government by making politics merely a place of greed, catering to the highest bidder. The dirty part of capitalism.

You are one of the most outspoken poets when it comes to the corruption in our government. May some day they hear, every citizen of this great country, and do something about it.
