Sunshine Across The Sheets

nothing else, My Darling,
nothing else matters now
but sunshine across the sheets
bare backside, basking in its heat
remembering your hot skin against mine


I lie atop tangled, sodden sheets
bright white in morning sunlight
soothing calm after wild storm
new dawn after passion’s night


nothing else matters at all
but the memory of one made of two
scent of love hanging heavy like dew
the sound, the taste, the touch
we will never forget….or regret


nothing matters but love and life
a place where fantasy, reality meets
and the sweet, silent benediction
of sunshine creeps across the sheets


nothing matters but you and me
the orchestration of our symphony
remembrance of a long night of ecstasy
with the world locked outside our door
we could ask for nothing more
