Poem Artwork

i confess it was i
who held you close

when the fingers of darkness
played across your sheets
and bare flesh warmed you

days, hours, minutes
are tedious and empty when we’re apart

the longer we wait
the tighter our ties

the greater our patience
the deeper our bond

the longer our kisses are delayed
the hotter our fire burns

frightened i won’t be the one you seek
and yet knowing i must be
i wait for the touch of your hand

for the circle of your arms
for the sweetness of your kiss

am i the one you’ve searched for?
have i found you at last, My Love?

treasure buried in the fields of my heart
i can only pass from my lips to yours
you can only possess in the
beat of our hearts against each other

i want to receive your love
and give you mine in a peaceful place
in a world known only to us

yes, i confess, it was i
taking my liberty
to invade your thoughts, your bed

the longer we wait
the more real we become
you think of me now, at the most
inopportune and intimate moments

always reaching out to me
and finding me, just as i find you,
only a thought away

After reading this, I know that you know love the way I know it. This is the place "I confess" I have been and long to return every minute of every day -with every breath I take. Yes, this is a peaceful place where nothing in the outside world matters. The sense of anticipation you have created here is overwhelming. BRAVO!

wonderfully warm, affectionately intimate romantic poem, anticipating the embrace of lover's always within each other's thoughts ...

Your words reach into my heart, Belle, and remind me of a special place for two where the rest of the world doesn't matter...where waiting is worth it when two people care and there is a kind of love that is willing. ( I just noiticed that perticular verse has touched "home" with Regis as well. )
Yours is a special heart Belle and I am so glad you can share it with us. How well I understand.

A superb ode to intimacy and the unhidden raw beauty of romance. A pleasure to curl up and relax inside these lines.

Hi Belle. Clearly you've expressed my feelings clearly. (LOL)

Not funny though. Seriously. How wonderful it would be to "be" in the space that you create in your poem here. I'm just sayin' is all. Love and peace,

Regis
