A Whisper Of Love

when i write poetry for you
when you pen passion for me
it’s so much more than words
more than sparks of sexuality
it’s love dredged from depths
of spirits pouring though souls
true inspiration conceived of love
having stood the test of years
it’s sacred, born of eternal truth
more than words or imaginations
more than mere fleshly yearnings
or magic flights of erotic fantasy


having written oft with others
the words of desire may touch
the hearts of those who read
but they leave my own empty
like an actress speaking lines
or kissing lips devoid of passion
but with you, my love, pure love
rushes hot through my veins
and never will i write for you
less than all that i honestly am
we are life's serene sanctuary
we are poetry, a whisper of love
