ONE MORE WORD ABOUT.....

Poem Artwork

No offense to any of you fine writers, just a little humor to lighten the day. I'd adore seeing a bit more romance on the board today. Taking Randall's suggestion, a challenge to see who can write the most stunning romance poem.

I'm Goin In The House
By La Belle Rouge

God’s Nightgown!!
Love has fallen, forgotten in the gutter
and this poetry board is about as dull
as a rusty butcher knife that can't cut butter
Just politics, politics and religion
is all you can seem to utter
Tired of sittin on my veranda
with stuffy politics talkin men
and if you don’t soon sweet talk me
I’ll leave and go in the house again

War war war and election results
left wing reasoning, right wing insults
Enough to make a Dixie Darlin
wanna stomp her feet and pout
and half of you don’t have a clue
what in perdition you’re talkin bout
You spoilin all the parties, not to mention
the barbeques, why don’t you loosen up
Why, we could go to the ball, me and you!

Now I assuredly know I’m a sinner, I do
though my fault, my own grievous fault
but do I really have to read sermons
until it feels like a tent revival assault?
Only a few brave souls dare to pen
of moonlight magnolias and...shhhh..sex
while the loud religion politics train
runs us over until we’re wild-eyed wrecks

I need some passion, I need some love
need sparkin, kissin and starlight above
Dull dull dull and a big fiddle de de
Write me some romance My Gentlemen
if you wanna have that dance with me
Guess politics are important, so is war
but don’t forget, life, liberty, and...
the personal pursuit of happiness
it what all that serious hoopla is for

Hats off to the shady politicians
and a prayer to the Good Lord too
for you to get it out of your systems
or I’ll hold my breath until I turn blue
Let’s escape today, if only for a short time
from the gloom and doom and hell-fire
into pages of sweet, warm romantic rhyme
Cause if we don’t I think I’ll go in the house
Why, I had more heart poundin excitement
last week when Mammy stepped on a mouse!

You have such a wonderful ability to write about romance in the most inticing way. I have to say, I often find myself wishing I could write as sensually as you. I may have to give it a whirl, but it may take me longer than some.

God bless you. Kathy

Gracious M'lady, after we discussed politics, drank our coffee and finished smoking our Cohibas, it was time to romance the southerner maidens, but (pardon my french, shoot!!!) you weren't there in the veranda or about the magnolias alley nor by the river doing that skinny dipping that you so mischievous implied.
Oh well...that's a prerogative of m'lady, isn't?
Corteously yours,

X

"left wing reasoning, right wing insults" . . . Couldn't be the other way around, huh, La Belle . . . It seems this is more political than not, and I don't write about politics anymore . . . Don't guess you have noticed that . . . In fact I think I wrote about the heart today . . .
