I have penned for you a valentine
not on an insignificant perishable page
my love I’ve etched on your heart
an eternal resting place for poetry
that will live on past this lifetime
and the words say.....
more than words can represent
and when my last breath is spent
I’ll still be loving you
in mysterious depths the love song begins
I’ll sing for you everyday of my life
notes you've never heard, melodies rich
a kiss soul to soul, lover’s touch of fire
a valentine born of spirit written on flesh
and My Darling
when the force of our blended heartbeats
slow down and at last they cease
you’ll still be loving me
love is eternal and it’s all I need
you and the dreams we have shared

scribe your name in letters large
on the parchment of my heart
each part of who I am, or will be, is yours
