he used to send me sensual poems
along with his heart
gentle words caused my tears to flow
he called me his 'Princess'
made sweet love to my soul
in dreams where our flesh couldn’t go
but there’s another side of me
no one else can see
through the years I’ve learned to hide it well
wearing an angelic smile, and all the while
I’m creating my own heaven out of hell
a long time now with no poetry in sight
I can only hope at last in his winter
he’s finding love’s warm light
cause he’s the sweetest fantasy
this lady ever held and kissed
and more than his tender poetry
it’s his beautiful soul I’ve missed
but there’s another side of me
I never let him see
the one silently starving at love’s feast
I just held his heart a while, gifted him a smile
knew I’d never be his greatest, just his least
I hope all his tears have been dried
by a woman’s warm fingertips of love
I hope his heart is light
as soft cotton clouds drifting above
his darkness scattered at last, loneliness all past
i’ve sailed far away now on a forgotten sea
and he never knew that other side of me
As I see it...he will never go beyond that, and you will be a starving twins. Love doesn't compromise.
Yes, it is another side, covered by a see through veil.
So good to read you again dear Belle, and what a poem to return to. I feel as though I'm reading something so familiar, but in words I could only wish to piece together. This is one that I'll return to...hauntingly. Such a beautiful and gripping piece.
Love,
Taylor
This is absolutely a remarkably stunning piece of poetry. Very wonderfully written and felt across all these miles.

This is absolutely beautifully sad. I think a love unconditioned is the hardest to ever deal with and , most likely, will never see healing.

Belle,
I think we all keep a side that we never allow our loved ones to see, sometimes by choice; others from necessity. Isn't it funny how we don't question why we never shared our "whole" selves, until it is, seemingly, too late, though? I must ask why we do this to ourselves and to others.
Thanks for allowing me to ponder this. The picture is gorgeous and the poem, while tinged by sadness, is nice, too.
Beautiful slice of heaven on Earth - exquisitely penned.
