there’s no path remaining here to travel
I’ve stumbled through too many long journeys
only one, I long to traverse, has any power
over my thoughts and restless wanderlust
that serene sancturary beyond all the clamor
and distracting disillusionment of life
a place where only those destined to love
who are forever joined as one spirit
can hope to approach and find shelter
a sacred place many doubters never find
until they finally lose faith in its existence
is it a blessing or a curse to believe
it’s possible to go there, live there?
is it pollyanna naïveté to expect
to arrive, in one lifetime or another?
no explanations, I just discern love's truth
it’s not an unattainable, impossible dream,
a romantic fantasy with no substance
you held me more than once, you will again
when dying shadows flow into newborn light
and once more I see through unclouded eyes
you will be the first my soul embraces
for you have always been my only desire
beyond a forest of doubt lies a meadow where
crocus defy snow and, love defeats emptiness
and we will, as in other times, kiss away Winter
Great sentimental poem for me. Waiting to be in heaven also with husband Tom. He is enjoying the colors up there as he did enjoy so many color in life. He knew what they meant to him so I know he is happy there. You hit the spot for what I needed to hear today. Thanks.

One of your best, the aching yearning is unbelievably strong within the perimeters of this verse, La Belle . . . To read it is to ache and pine.
