i glanced up into the midnight sky
there it was....the crescent moon!
cradled in the bottom of its curve
i saw two lovers lying side by side
covered by a soft blanket of stars
volume of poetry held in his hand
her head resting on his shoulder
she listened intently as he read
words of love, such sweet little lies
oh the power of sweet little lies
to make love almost believable
touching every part of each other
shamelessly ‘neath a star blanket
no fear of falling back to earth
i thought the night would never end
cuddled together in our gold cradle
that you hung for me in a black sky
so long ago, so far away, so briefly
I've read several of your poems and they are magnetic! This particular poem made me think of a very nice print I brought and framed for my wall called "The Poet"...how romantic. Your very pretty and romantic name fits you well and your poetry is well written and thought provoking. I love your style...many blessings and much success to you.
The wonder of a dream that can take us to the stars together to nestle in their twinkling glow is truly precious and you captured that so well here.
