Home, My Love, you are home again
Where peace is more than a hope
and love is a gentle kiss of fingertips
Where words are tempered with kindness
and disagreements never crush hearts
You are home where red roses bloom
where mutual tenderness dwells and
respect and honor are two way streets
Where growing up is a sacred experience
and laughter is heard more than weeping
Where fathers guide with patience
and mothers don’t cry for absent children
Home, where at twilight you take my hand
and we walk arm in arm along the riverbank
until the smiling moon peeks out at us
between gnarled branches of ancient trees
Where we sit together in our garden
encircled by scent of gardenia and jasmine
sharing our secret thoughts and warm lips
along with a bottle of vintage chardonnay
and poetry we have dedicated to each other
steamy day soon morphs into cool night
as you wrap my shoulders with your arms
and I welcome you home again
A homecoming welcome that would make wish even a battle hardened soldier to convert himself into a little hummingbird going back to his favorite flower.
The music to these very warm, special words was wisely chosen to enhance the mood setting, I applaud you on this most wonderful, heartwarming piece....
That is so lovely a picture you made, glows, smells of the colours of home, where one cares and is cared for, safe, warm and peaceful - a tender hearted poem that inspires a cuppa Lady Gray tea and a dream, before i make my generous hosts a delicious soup for when they get back from work! Beautiful writing Belle :o)
