I easily melt into the shadows
of forgotten erotic dreams
and blend with the scents
of long ago love

jasmine, gardenia, musk
river breezes

waltzes carried on the wind
harpsichord melodies at twilight

love poetry read aloud in a garden
where wisteria twines itself
around the towering magnolias

where love knows no shame
and passion knows no limits
when orchids eagerly enfold oaks

a relic, perhaps, to many
to others a breath of youth
a kiss of fire

a far away shelter
from cold pouring rain
welcome of a warm winter hearth

a mystic, forever homecoming
you reach only on unfurled wings
of a memory
