he thinks of her….from time to time
when from a hard day he tries to unwind
he imagines her wearing that pink corset
a sensual vision he will never forget
he thinks of her on moonlit nights
when the stars hang low like glowing gas lights
she’s softly whispering “take me I’m yours”
it’s the kind of fantasy a man adores
he thinks of her when winter winds blow
and his window sill is covered in snow
highlights in her hair dance in light of the fire
just the thought of her fills him with desire
he thinks of her a hundred ways
she’s there on winter nights and summer days
in meadows of spring and crisp forests of fall
and soul to soul he hears her call
he thinks of her…from time to time
but thoughts alone aren’t worth a thin dime
from time to time she thinks of him too
but thinking is all either one of them will do
Thoughts also glide on the rays of divine emotion and often it may not span the distance of land and sky...it can still recover the gaps in the heart in warm and tender refrain.

Such beautiful lines La Belle especially "crisp forests of fall"
The bitter-sweet ending, of which you are the mistress of, is at once characteristic and shows us how to make that trademark sentiment into art.
Great.
Love, existing only on the fringes of the imagination never to be consummated in the flesh. Sad, like art beyond the eye of the canvas. Belle, you are a master of the heart's uncharted journeys. This is another beauty. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael
Sad,because it happens more than we care to admit! Excellent Poem,Belle

Hah! This poem reminds me of an old John Prine song, "Donald and Lydia." Sad and lovely at the same time, both wishing, thinking and wishing. Nice work.
Belle, you had me full of anticipation,,,,, until that last line. Sadly, that's probably true more often than not. It's a lovely poem, I like it a lot…. Thanks Dick

Love is universal and not limited to the most perfect among us. In this collection of romantic short stories and poetry, love comes to those who are decidedly imperfect, who possess very real human flaws, scars, and challenges. Awaiting us as we are.

too sad for too many that love lives silently in the mind.

And you splendidly capture the sadness of how the deprivation of love can go on and on forever.
