do you think they are watching us,
bright angels on high, dark devils below
restless ghosts of lovers turned to dust?
do they envy the way our eyes embrace
and our breath blends in a sensual mist
rising from the steam of intense kisses?
do you believe they would barter away
all the treasures of their immortality for
just one taste of such love on their lips?
do they drift through the evening breeze
and hide themselves behind magnolia trees
for forbidden glimpses of pale and bronze
braided into an eternal, unbreakable cord ?
do they listen beyond infinity to hear sighs
of complete contentment, do they wonder at
or remember hot flames of earthy touches
and taste again bread made from lightest flour
ground fine between millstones of adversity?
Belle, a romantic rhetorical question that will remain forever unanswered. Yet it matters not for your poem will endure to challenge the imaginations of young lovers and those that have loved as long as there are eyes to read. "for forbidden glimpses of pale and bronze" are a few words worthy of a thousand pictures my dear friend. How artfully you blended the supernatural with that unique touch of elegant romantic fancies. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

Immortal Voyeurs watch from the portals of envy
unable to contain their smiles and contentment
tasting the essence of our wayward passions
they hang from the fringes of heavens curtains
to savor and learn the lessons of earthly delight
lost in the caresses we exchange in the night
when the world slips between the sun and the moon
and they sing in unison the songs of our hearts
