These are perfectly warm sonnets to me, Belle, with the lifeblood of your powerful rhyme and metre flowing through them. And there's an inherent life and passion in them still which keeps those roses and sweetpeas in full bloom. Both death and spectre seem most inviting and hospitable if one has to meet such an untimely end. Such duallisms in the power of this peace captured by your ability to paint the realities and weave the fiction: you stand on the very frontier, at the gateway, and look both ways....
