Hey .. what did steve mean by writing this ? Is Steve a bad soul? Too bad for steve to write such a nasty one. What does Steve mean by LOVE ? I think your definition of love is to stupid.

I think this is an interesting write Steve, you ask some truly thought provoking questions. Those words.. "I love you.." are often so freely given, until the meaning gets lost. Love is so much more than those three words.

Cryptic for sure because the use of 'mother' makes it all sound different. Did you mistype 'like' for 'life' or what. A mother's love is unconditional...so are you expecting an unconditional love from someone else too? As in, using' mother' as a comparison for love?

isn't it odd that a mother-type love automatically means, can't be "in" love, for some. the gift of a mothering nature is compassion, concern and unconditional love.
i think that between these lines, you have touched on that, rather well. and raised some good questions.

You have raised some interesting questions. However, your last stanza has lost me. I couldn't quite grasp the meaning of that.

Crptic, not sure of the meaning but sounds like to me someone who never actually knew a mother's real love, questioning the reasons and the place she holds in his life??? I don't always have to completely understand poetry to respect and enjoy it.
