Very sad what parents in some cultures will do for $$$$$$'s....If they have any shame, then they are deserving of that shame....
But there is eventual happiness for the "golden child" bride who ran off with her young lover....Taking the the ride ride "Into A Sunrise Of Happiness" for both of them....Hopefully forever....

The young brides marriages practice is still going on in some countries and religion to girls as young as 6 to 8 years old where parents have no conscience as to whether their daughters would live or die on wedding night. They are being sold to grown men pedophiles. This type of practice is truly sad and it needs to be stopped!

the sad thing is that this happens all the time. but as more and more people become aware of this practice these people are caught and punished for what they do to our youth.
How terrible that families can treat their young daughters as financial commodities....I hope it ends soon.

Very interesting story, Sandie! I'm so glad her boyfriend came to her rescue, but I feel sad for the 13 years old soon-to-be bride. Great story! Keep them coming, Sandie!

So sad marrying off kids. Unfortunately as you said, it's still happening in some places. The girl child is married off so young with little or no education. I love fighting for girl's/women's rights and stories like this make me sad. A very good write Sandie.

There are still a lot of child brides in the today's world. Many countries are still practicing child brides. Some children are as young as between 8 and 12. Fifteen is considered as old already, but I understand your need to up her age to a 15 year-old in order to fit into the story that her boyfriend is going to rescue her.
I'm happy she escaped, I felt very sad for her. While reading I thought she was going to kill herself, but thank God the boy took the risk of getting her. I hope they live happily ever after. Nice imaginative poem. Grtz, Daniel.
