When we lose our other half, it is as though we die too.
How surprising to find forever...again!
One by one they slip away
The memories of that last day
The way you looked, the words we said
The sound of voices in my head
Has replaced your voice and I don’t know why
I try to remember your smile, your scent
But the image seems to be so distant
Has it been three years since you went home?
And left me here so alone?
I thought that I would truly die
All I could do for weeks was cry
Friends would tell me
“Sweetie, you must get out”
And then proceed to fix me up
With brothers and even former lovers
But they weren’t you
But now, my love, I have met “the one”
He has turned my tears to smiles
And he knows my heart
He is not you, but love him, I do
So sweet, to live again
I know that you are smiling
Happy I am no longer alone
That my heart will go on
And has found Forever...Again!
