A dull ache
Solar plexus-wise
Constant burning
Spreading through my
Chest.

How did I misread you
So badly?

How did I mistake you
For someone else?

Conversations once light
And airy
Become heavy
Thudding bass-like
Reverberating beyond the
Moment into a history of
Disfunction.

Is it so difficult
To change?

Can we leave the neuroses
Of the past behind
And start anew
Recognizing the patterns and
Misconceptions that keep our
Spiritual growth at a
Minimum?

Or are we doomed to repeat
The same errors over and
Over again
Remaining the same people
With the same problems
Doing the same thing
With the same
Results?

A searing pain
Heart-wise
Constantly moaning
Tears threatening
Falling from my
Eyes
