Throwing Out Our Shoes David CLURE
Today,
July The First,
I walked downtown,
to mail a letter.
A stone,
it seemed, caught
in my shoe -- and
it did not feel better.
Returning home,
removed the shoe,
no pebble did I find.
Instead, a tack!
to which I had been
blind.
Throw out the
TACKS,
and not the Shoes!
Elsewise, so many
good things
we may loose.

So I guess I missed the metaphor message. My bad.
