Anyone, most anywhere,
can see where this life leads.
But grownups try pretending it
can't be.

And the limitations
we cannot exceed;
we delay.
Oh, the games we grownups
choose,  to play.

Though it's easier
to face, reality --
we convince ourselves
our lies will set us free.

And we lock up, those
trapped in their fantasy.
but if you are 'in'
well, we pretend to just not see.

Oh the games
we grownups choose
to play,
until we've been laid out,

but  by then my friend
it's too late, too late, too late
then 
to see.
