Where Did The Love Go?

Sometimes our marriages are taken for granted and we stop caring and trying. I've always believed that if you really loved someone with all you heart, it would always be all right.

Where Did The Love Go?

Where did the love go that we felt through the years?

Why aren’t the thrills and the butterflies here?

When did they vanish and when did I know?

Those feelings were gone and why didn’t they grow?

Love was so beautiful and love was so pure.

Dreaming of what’s to come, what life has in store.

Planning the future made our hearts yearn.

What happened to those dreams, will they ever return?

So many questions, there are no answers for.

So many memories went out our front door.

Where did the time go and will I ever feel,

The way I did then or was that time not real?

Those chills that traveled up and down my spine,

When you were near me life was sublime.

That certain smile you had way back then,

Made my heart flutter and my head truly spin.

Did we give up, is that what went wrong?

Do you not remember our special song”

How can this happen to people like us?

Do hearts turn to stone, like iron to rust?

You were my everything, I thought life was great.

You were my champion, my lover, my mate.

Why did it change, and will my soul ever mend?

I lost my lover, my champion, my friend.

If you’d look back, I’m sure you’ll see,

Those beautiful memories are a part of me.

My heart skips a beat when I look back in time.

When I remember, I was once yours and you were once mine.

We must have traveled two different paths.

We must have forgotten the joys and the laughs.

I hope that someday we both can feel,

Those same old feelins’ that I know were once real.

Bonnie this is just beautiful. Sometimes with the passage of time we seem to neglect those that mean the most to us. Every now and then something happens and we are drawn back together. Love the way this was presented...

Be safe,
Karen
