along dark, arm-strecthed roads
trees feather with despair
along desolate, coil-laced valleys
rocks search with regret
along curtain, wrinkle-fold hills
grass malts with tears
along pregnant, bayou-swamped streams
death swims with life
along orchards, ancient-faced magnolia trees
perfume air scents with silence
along yarns, heaven-lined mardi gras skies
sadness crawls with fainting crescent clouds
along long, hope-drained sanctuary halls
seeds yield weary strange fruit
along webs, silk-strung lights
tryanny wrecks with confessions of abandoment
And yet I'm still here, and growing
