When the voice of reason falls silent, only fools can be heard.

Totalitarian poets wash bloody hands clean,
Like terroristic allies of subservient cadres,
Slapping faces, muting the voice of dissent,
Hiding madness behind corporate decrees.

Falling like the blossoms of a cherry tree,
Spiraling down literary mineshafts unread,
Hyperbole infested masses cast their foe,
Leaving only the  dead  to bury their dead.

"After me, chaos" there was once a man taking himself too seriously, and politicians today, from everywhere are offering to us to see their policies "emperor new clothes"
Others, just kill people because they are there.

Some only hear what they like..or hear completely different, than the words said. Very complete and unusual writing!

First stanza of "Anno Domini": The second word of its first line, "poets".

I have reasons to think that the author meant, "DESPOTS" ~ for
"poets" don't fit the subject dealt.

The mind of a Poet is a creative engine of beauty, wonders and grace to diffuse love, harmony; to learn and to teach; to instruct Solons and to inspire kings and Sovereign queens; to defend art and the language; and to stimulate intuition and imagination.

I like this striking composition for its poemization and poetic voice. "Anno Domini" challenges my political and historical engines.

In admiration,

Andre Emmanuel Bendavi ben-YEHU

My Latin's pretty bad. What does the title mean? The best I can come up with is "God years"? That can't be right! HElp me out here.

You'r line, "Falling like the blossom of a cherry tree" is vivid, beautiful, and metaphorically brilliant... what's good and lovely, being cast aside down ugly tunnels... just brilliant. --Charlie

Sadly, as it is and ever shall be. Sometimes, Rockie, the only
way to be heard is to take to the streets. Good, thoughtful, provocative...
