For You, My Lady

For you, my lady,

the love I feel too much to

wordlessly contain within my mind,

to wordlessly contain within my heart.

None but you and I know of a love

hidden deeply within our hearts,

of a love hidden deeply within

the shadowy places of our lives.

None but you and I know of

the soulful place of our love.

Sadly,

we both know our love

can never go forward.

Sadly,

we both know our love can never,

nor will ever see the light of day:

to walk together the grassy field;

to sleep together within the sphere

of our combined warmth;

to sleep within the range

of the sounds of the sleeping

breath of one-another.

For you, my lady,

The love I feel too much to

wordlessly contain.

Like dipping our toes in the sea while asking the small waves where they have been, knowing that one will never go there, but only in our dreams.
Bud God is a funny fellow, now and then He will surprise you our of the blue with the most wonderful of all gifts.
Just tell Him to be more snappy at it, can't have forgotten your age!

This is very sad, Mark, but also very beautiful...it is so heart breaking when a love such as you describe can not be realized, no matter the reasons. It feels like the kind of love that should be shouted from rooftops. A beautiful write, my friend...I empathize ~ Lizzie
